Group Supervision for COunsellors in Vancouver and across British Columbia

About the Clinical Supervision Group:

This online monthly Clinical Supervision Group is a collaborative space for up to 6 counsellors to meet with other therapists to explore clinical content related to working in private practice with individual adults on issues such as relationships, trauma, attachment, and anxiety.

In this group, there is space to…

• explore clinical case consultations,

• discuss ethical issues and dilemmas,

• explore application of specific modalities or interventions,

• process personal reactions, countertransference, Person-of-the-Therapist (POTT) material,

• discuss business-related or professional development topics to support the growth of your counsellor identity,

• and receive supportive feedback from other counsellors in a confidential and secure environment.

The group meets BCACC’s standards for clinical group supervision, and the hours attended in this group are eligible to count towards RCC application or ACS-Candidate application. Record of hours or documentation can be provided as needed.

Who is this group for?

The group is for counsellors who have completed their master’s program and internship, and are now working in private practice in British Columbia. It can be for registered counsellors (e.g., RCC, CCC, RSW) or those working towards registration. The group is suitable for:

• recent graduates,

• therapists newer to private practice,

• or experienced practitioners who are looking to further develop their therapeutic skills and receive ongoing support.

The group is not suitable for students currently in their masters program or in the process of completing their internship.

Theoretical Approaches:

The group welcomes a diversity of approaches, including relational, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and somatic approaches. This group can be a helpful place for therapists exploring approaches such as Person-centered, Humanistic, Strengths-based, Interpersonal Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Therapy, and more.

Commitment:

Minimum 3 month commitment, in order to support the establishment of rapport, connection, and consistency within the group.
